Gillette started marketing his razors early in the last century. And while it may seem obvious to us today how a three piece safety razor works, he actually had to explain it in his advertisments.
I think that impresses me most – beyond the nicely detailed drawing of a two-ring Old Typerazor – is the absolutely awesome goatee the shaver has.
Is there a better way to start a fresh year than with a refreshing shave? I would say no, but then again… I am somewhat biased in favour of nice shaves.
Last shave of the year, and I’m not even in my own den… still a great shave, though with a razor that is one hundred and six years old by now.

And that… was that. The last bit of CRSW’ Morning Ghost is used up. That took longer than expected, but now I can start my holiday break with different soaps 🙂
Or at least a razor invented by Burton Christmas,1 that is. I’ve touched upon it lightly before, but let us have a more in depth look at it.
