Shave of the day 11th June

Pre-shave: Dr Bronner’s Magic Soap, liquid peppermint
Lather: Nieva Shave Cream
Brush: Body Shop syntetic brush
Razors: Merkur 985CL loaded with a fresh “Lord Platinum” blade
Post-shave: cold water rinse and Aubrey Men’s Stock North Woods aftershave

On the go again, so still using the stuff in the GoBag. Pretty good shave, but missing my alum block and regular aftershave.

Shave of the day 8th June

Pre-shave: Dr Bronner’s Magic Soap, liquid peppermint
Lather: Nieva Shave Cream
Brush: Body Shop syntetic brush
Razors: Merkur 985CL loaded with a “Lord Platinum” blade
Post-shave: cold water rinse and Aubrey Men’s Stock North Woods aftershave

Still on the go, so still using the stuff in the GoBag. Third shave with the blade, so while the blade still gave me a DFS it has to go – better to discard a blade that’s good than the suffer a shave with a blade that’s gone sour.

Shave of the day 6th June

Pre-shave: Dr Bronner’s Magic Soap, liquid peppermint
Lather: Nieva Shave Cream
Brush: Body Shop syntetic brush
Razors: Merkur 985CL loaded with a “Lord Platinum” blade
Post-shave: cold water rinse and Aubrey Men’s Stock North Woods aftershave

Still on the go, so still using the stuff in the GoBag. Miss having my alum block, but otherwise a DFS all things considered.

Shave of the day 4th June

Pre-shave: Dr Bronner’s Magic Soap, liquid peppermint
Lather: Nieva Shave Cream
Brush: Body Shop syntetic brush
Razors: Merkur 985CL loaded with a fresh “Lord Platinum” blade
Post-shave: cold water rinse and Aubrey Men’s Stock North Woods aftershave

On the go – so using the stuff in the GoBag. The Nivea Shave Cream is part of a genrous PIF from a fellow shaver, and performs rather well for face lathering. The aftershave was a sample bottle the Better Half got me, and while it smells okay, it has little in the way of heal, seal and moisturise that I’ve gotten used to from my regular aftershave. Overall a pretty good shave while away from my nook.

Shave of the day 1st June

Pre-shave: Dr Bronner’s Magic Soap, tea tree oil bar
Lather:Col Conk’s Bay Rum
Brush: Still new Vie-Long 14033 mixed horse-badger brush
Razors: Parker 22R with “Gillette Goal Stainless”, Feather Popular with a “Feather Hi Stainless”
Post-shave: Alum block and Krampert’s Finest

Still breaking in my new brush – letting it meet the Colonel today – and it just keeps getting better. I might have taken the blade in the 22R one shave too far though, got a few bumps on my lower neck. Overall a pretty decent shave, head and shoulders above anything I managed using cartridges.

Shave of the Day 30th May

Pre-shave: Dr Bronner’s Magic Soap, Citrus
Lather: RazorRock XXX shave cream
Brush: Still new Vie-Long 14033 mixed horse-badger brush
Razors: Merkur 39C slant with “Gillette Goal Stainless”, Feather Popular with a “Feather Hi Stainless”
Post-shave: Alum block and Krampert’s Finest

Second shave and third lather with my latest brush – my brush and mine first encounter with this soft cream. Good lather, good shave, awesome aftershave – a DFS all told.

Shave of the day 28th May

Pre-shave: Dr Bronner’s Magic Soap, Pepperming
Lather: Mike’s Natural Peppermint & Rosemary Shaving Soap
Brush: Brand new Vie-Long 14033 mixed horse-badger brush
Razors: Merkur 39C slant and Parker 22, both with “Gillette Goal Stainless” blades
Post-shave: Alum block and Krampert’s Finest

My new Vie-Long works fine out of the box, can’t wait to see how it performs once it’s been broken in. Overall a DFS.

Shave of the day 25th May

Pre-shave: Dr Bronner’s Magic Soap, peppermint
Lather: Rise Shave Gel

Brush: Body Shop synthetic brush
Razors: Merkur 985CL travel razor, loaded with a fresh “Shark”

Post-shave:  Cold water rinse

Out and about, so shaving from the GoBag. Not my best shave, but not bad all considered.

Shave of the day 23rd Mai

Lather: Rise Shave Gel
Brush: Body Shop synthetic brush
Razors: Merkur 985CL travel razor, loaded with a fresh “Shark”

Shave of the day 21st May

Brush: Omega #10048 Boar Bristle Brush
Razors: Merkur 39C slant and Parker 22, both with “Gillette Goal Stainless” blades

Mike’s soap make a very nice lather, and Brian’s Bay Rum makes for a perfect finish – and the bit in between was good too. Overall a DFS!
