The BBC have an interesting article on the Indian barbershop an the place it has in society – I found it well worth a read, and it brought back found memories of the Indians I served with on ‘my’ Team Site in South Sudan.
I have to agree with the Indian boys though; unisex salons have always made me feel out of place. I wish there was a good old fashioned barbershop in my little town, but I’m not even sure if there is one in Norway at all.
Thanks to a link at my favourite shaveforum, I present the 1884 catalogue from Theo. A Kochs in Chicago.
A few fun finds in the catalogue:
Interesting article, via Fark.com. If you stick to SE and DE you’ll keep your wallet happier is my key take away – offer not valid if you catch RAD or BAD or SAD (or any other Acquisition Disorder).
I found an interesting idea online today as I was looking around for a cheap hairtrimmer to stick in my GoBag for those times I might be away from home for extended periods.
Not the best article I’ve seen, but worth a read.
A quite interesting read:
How I ditched sexist disposable razors – and learnt to shave my legs like a gentleman
I can totally see the author’s comment on lady-razors being made with offcuts from the My Little Pony factory… they tend to be quite horrifically pink and purple.
Bergums Såpkokeri is slated to make a Limited Edition of his Brutalt Bra Barbersåpe for my favourite shaving forum. As a fellow Norwegian, how can I not be excited about a well review Norwegian shaving soap that will smell of the Norwegian forest, exclusive to the one forum I really enjoy hanging out on?
