Colgate shaving cream, had, according to this 1916 advertisement, five star points.
So what were these five star points? Nothing too surprising, by modern standards:
- It lathered abundantly in both hot and cold water.
- The lather stayed moist
- It lathered quickly.
- The cream didn’t harden when warm
- And lastly it didn’t get watery when cold
Now, this may just be me and my experiences, but i would worry more about a shaving cream getting too runny in hot weather and too stiff in the cold. But operantly I should worry about the opposite.
And if you don’t want their shaving cream, the advertisement mentions that you can also get it as a stick or powder.
