Far gone are the days when seeing something cool and old meant travelling to a museum and hope they had it in the exhibition. Today, with the information superhighway and/or a series of tubes, we can see neat old things in the privacy of our own home.
And cats. For some reason the internet is full of cats.
But disregarding the feisty felines, I recently stumbled over some good photos of a 1910 Gillette Old Type, with blades and a sharpening device, from the collections of The Norwegian museum of Science and Technology.
The razor itself is, judging by the photos, in need of some tender, loving care. The head looks near identical to the one I have in my Khaki Kit. The handle, on the other hand, is a dead ringer for the mid 20’s Gillette I found at a flea marked a couple of years back.
The online collection page for the razor can be found here.
