As the sharp eyed reader probably have noticed, Gifts&Care were selling a solidarity advent calendar this year to raise money and awareness for the ongoing volcanic eruption at La Palma.

Luckily – and none too soon – that the La Palma volcano eruption was declared over on the 25th December 2021. There is still a need to support the people of La Palma – while no lives have been lost as far as I know, more than thirteen hundred houses have been destroyed in addition to churches, schools, clinics and other infrastructure have been destroyed and needs rebuilding.

Since the start of the month I’ve shared the daily prices and surprises in the calendar I gotten with you. And now it is time to look at the whole pile all at once!

All told I got some pretty interesting, thoughtful and useful prices and surprises – as well as some candy. The value to me is way beyond the 25€ Gifts&Care asked for – I would be happy to pay twice that for all these goodies and the warm fuzzy feeling of helping the people displaced or otherwise affected by the volcanic eruption on La Palma.

There are a few of the samples I’ll definitely be using the gift code to get more of. The Proraso Pre Shave Cream, for one, as well as the Antigua Bareria de Barrio bath soap. More of the Pasta del Capitano toothpaste is tempting too, as is the Oak beard oil. I’ll probably think of more as I sample my way through the samples.

I want to thank Gifts & Care for putting this calendar together. Not only did it allow me to do a tiny bit to help the people of La Palma, but it have also given me much joy and enjoyment in the run up to Christmas. If a similar calendar is offered next year, I’ll be first in line to get one.
