Caveat: This post has nothing to do with shaving. But it has to do what other things I do to amuse myself.
For those who don’t know, I also dabble in what I charitable call “creative writing”.
Specifically, I like to poke at the genre informally known as HFY – Humanity F**k Yeah. I’ve written a few short stories and posted over on Reddit, with okay feedback.
I also poke a little now and then at AI-tools like ChatGPT and Suno AI.
Recently I wrote a little piece I titled “Glory or Nothing”. Curious about what might happen – and being a little bored – I pointed ChatGTP at my little story, and asked for a summary. Since it didn’t bork it up, I then asked it to write me the lyrics of a song based on the story. Three tries later, I had lyrics that was acceptable good.
So armed with those lyrics, I wandered over to Suno AI and asked for a piece of music that should be – and I quote from my prompt – epic, pompous, and military. And I asked again. And again. And from the set of tunes I got, I picked one that I felt matched my internal idea of what it ought to sound like.
After that it was not too much work asking yet another AI to make me a picture (or ten), and then combine it all to make a short video.
And that is what you’re getting today – a short song, based on a short story I wrote, but with lyrics and music ‘created’ by a couple of algorithms with access to large databases.
