I don’t need a new brush.

I really don’t – I have seven nice brushes in my daily rotation, one in my GoBag, as well as one in my locker at work.

So I really don’t need a new brush.

But… I am very tempted to get one.

A little while ago I got wind of a new-to-me artisan turning shaving brushes, via a PIF over on Reddit.¹ I followed the link given, and found myself spending way too much time over on the website of Auroran Grooming. Not only does he have a several styles of handles available – I like the soft curves of the Genesis and Chalice myself – but he also offers a choice between ready made and made to order brushes.

So I am very, very tempted.

To me the prices seems reasonable (even if shipping to Europe will be steep), and the workmanship looks to be top notch in the photos. The only thing missing is more information on what knots are available.

So even if you’re not in the market for a new brush, you can do worse with your spare time than visiting Auroran Grooming and daydream over their brushes.

I am, as I said, very tempted. And I do have a birthday coming up in a few months… so a gift to myself may be in order?
