Apollo 10 featured the first “shave in space“, where the crew used “safety razors, a thick shaving gel and a wet cloth to do the work.” – after testing showed that electrical shavers with vacuum attachments didn’t work. A little later, during the ground breaking Apollo 11 mission, astronaut Michael Collins used a Techmatic razor and Old Spice brushless cream.
This Techmatic and tube of cream, to be specific. Off course, now I need work out a visit to the National Air and Space Museum the next time I’m in the US – just so I can ogle a razor that’s been in space…
